MAHARASHTRA COMBINED COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (MH CET)
Government of Maharashtra conducts a single stage Combined Common Entrance Test (MH-CET) for selection to all degree courses in Health Sciences, ENGINEERING ,PHARMACY, Nursing, BVSc.& AH courses under all Government/Municipal Corporation, Government aided institutions and Private colleges/ Institutions who opt for admission through MH CET 2016
The Competent Authority for the conduct of MHT-CET (Maharashtra Combined Common Entrance Test) examination is Director, Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai, Maharashtra.
For selection process there will be separate Competent Authorities.
Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian National.
Age: The candidate must be of 17 years of age on the year of examination to appear for MH CET.
The candidate must have passed the SSC or equivalent examination from an Institution situated in the State of Maharashtra.

Exception for SSC (10th Std. or equivalent examination) :Candidate who has passed SSCor equivalent examination from an institute situated outside Maharashtra State and HSC or equivalent examination from within Maharashtra State is eligible for seeking admission to the courses in Health Science provided that he/she is DOMICILE of Maharashtra
All the candidates should note the above change in the Eligibility Criteria.This exemption will be applicable only for this year i.e. 2014-15, however this exemption [4.4 (b)] will not be applicable from the academic year 2015-16 and onwards.
Rules of Educational Qualification
An aspirant must have passed the qualifying examination i.e. Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC/12th Standard) or equivalent examination, from an Institution situated in the State of Maharashtra with Biology (Zoology & Botany), Chemistry, Physics and English.
1.Rule For MBBS/BDS: A candidate belonging to Open Category must not have obtained less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC or equivalent Examination.
A candidate belonging to Backward class must have obtained 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC or equivalent Examination.
2.Rule For BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BPTh, BOTh, BASLP and BP&O: Pass in HSC / 12th Standard or equivalent examination.
3.Rule For BSc. Nursing: A candidate belonging to Open category must have obtained 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together at HSC or equivalent examination.
A candidate belonging to backward class must not have obtained less than 35% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together at HSC or equivalent examination
4.The candidates who are appearing for qualifying examination i.e. HSC or equivalent examination in February/March of the year of examination are also eligible to appear for MH CET. However, they must fulfill the eligibility condition for the course at the time of selection.
5.The Candidates claiming a Hilly Area Seat must have passed their SSC or HSC Examination from Hilly Area.
6.All the candidates seeking admission to health science courses in State of Maharashtra must have to appear for MHT-CET, except the candidates to be admitted against 15% All India(AIEE) quota and nominees of Government of India (GOI) quota
7.Candidates seeking admission in BUMS course should have passed SSC (or equivalent) examination from the recognised board with Urdu as one of the subject.
Exam Dates and Schedule
MHT CET schedule is notified by Competent Authority and Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Tentatively the forms are issued in Month of March and test is generally conducted in month of May.
Generally the MH-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) is conducted at all the district headquarters of the state of Maharashtra. The MHT-CET examination centre is generally within the same district from where the candidate has passed / is appearing at the qualifying examination i.e. HSC/12th Standard examination.
For the eligible candidates passing qualifying examination from outside the state of Maharashtra, the Competent Authority allots the examination center.
