MAHARASHTRA COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (MH CET) 

The Government  of Maharashtra has established  "ADMISISON  REGULATING  AUTHORITY AND STATE COMMON ENTRANCE TEST CELL" as per the provisions of the Maharashtra Unaided  Private  Professional  Educational  Institutions  (Regulation  of  Admissions  &  Fees)  Act. 2015 (Mah. Act No.XXVIII of 2015), (herein after the Act).

The Commissioner of State CET Cell, has been designated as Competent Authority for conducting MHT-CET 2023 and selection of candidates for admission to 4 Year Duration Full Time Under Graduate Degree courses in Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy and 6 Year Duration Full Time Under Graduate Degree course in Pharm D. for the academic year 2023-24.  

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23 of the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act, 2015 (Mah. XXVIII of 2015), the Government of Maharashtra has notified the rules to regulate the admissions to the First and Direct Second Year of Full Time Professional Undergraduate Technical Courses (Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy, Pharm D., Architecture, Hotel Management and  Catering Technology). These rules are called the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions to the Full Time Professional Undergraduate Technical Courses) Rules, 2017. The admissions shall be carried out as per these Rules and its amendment from time to time. These rules are also applicable for admissions in Government and Government Aided professional educational  institutions  including  ICT,  Mumbai  as  per  Government  Resolution  TEM-2016/C.R.473/16/TE-4 dated 25th April, 2017.  

MHT CET Eligibility For Admission To First Year Engineering/ Technology, Pharmacy, Pharm D. Courses

Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian National.

Age : There is no age limit for admission and appearing to MHT-CET 2023

Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National – These types of Candidature Candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT-CET 2023.

Minority Candidature – The Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category.

MHT CET Educational Qualification:  

All the candidates passed / appearing at the qualifying examination i.e. HSC/12th Standard examination or its equivalent examination and having Indian Nationality are eligible for appearing for MHT-CET 2023

MHT CET Candidature Type - Maharashtra State Candidature. - A Candidate can claim only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature Type i.e. from Type A to E.

  • Type A : i) Candidates passing SSC and also HSC or Diploma in Engineering or Bachelor of Science Examination from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State; (ii) Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/ or is born in Maharashtra;
  • Type B : A Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate.
  • Type C: A Candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type-B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP.
  • Type D: A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.
  • Type E: Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognised institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi.   

MHT CET Eligibility Criterions as per notification dated 19th May, 2018 or its amendment from time to time: MHT CET 2023 Eligibility conditions and requirements for admissions First Year - Engineering / Technology

(1) Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate. –

(i)The Candidate should be an Indian National;

(ii)Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects, and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together; and Obtained score in MHT-CET 2023. Or

(ii) Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 45 % marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only); Or

(ii) Passed B.Sc. Degree from a Recognised University as defined by UGC. and obtained at least 45 % marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject;

(2) All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates. –

(i)The Candidate should be an Indian National;

(ii)Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together and Obtained score in JEE (Main) B.E./B.Tech or MHT-CET 2023. Or

(ii) Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 45 % marks (at least 40 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only); Or

(ii)Passed B.Sc. Degree from a Recognised University as defined by University Grants Commission and obtained at least 45 % marks (at least 40 % marks, in case of backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject;

MHT CET 2023 Exam Dates and Schedule:  

MHT CET 2023 schedule is notified by Competent Authority and Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Mumbai, Maharashtra.

How To Apply MHT CET Online Application Form: for MHT-CET 2023 will be filled through Online Mode (CBT-Computer Based Test) only. The MHT CET Online Application Submission is four step process :

  • Registration – Creation of Username and Password
  • My Application – Filling up Application Form for MHT- CET 2023
  • Upload of Photograph and Signature - Candidate must upload their recent
    Photograph and Signature in Online system
  • Payment of Fees – Candidate can make payment of Fees using Online Payment
    mode or Offline (i.e Bank Challan Payment)

MHT CET Application Fees :

MHT CET Application form processing fees is to be paid through online mode only for which the service charges, as per rules, shall be applicable in addition to the application form processing fees.
This MHT CET fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances

If the candidate opted for only PCM or only PCB in General Category, he/she will have to pay Rs 800/- and for Reserve Category candidate from state of Maharashtra he/she will have to pay Rs. 600/- as a MHT CET 2023 examination fee. If the candidate opted for both the groups i.e. PCM and PCB then for General Category, he/she will have to pay Rs 1,600/- and for Reserve Category candidate from the State of Maharashtra he/she will have to pay Rs. 1,200 as a MHT CET 2023 examination fee.

For General Category Candidates from Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), J & K Migrant candidates : Rs. 800/-
For Candidates of Backward Class Categories [SC, ST, VJ/DT-NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC] and Persons with Disability Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only : Rs. 600/-

MHT CET Examination Centre: The MHT-CET 2023 will be conducted either by online (CBT-Computer Based Test) or offline mode at almost all the district headquarters in the State of Maharashtra. But if State CET Cell decides that the mode of the examination is Online then only the Online MHT CET 2023 will be also conducted at Capital Districts of the selected states outside Maharashtra like Bihar, Chattisgarh, Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh depending on the availability of the candidates. The eligible candidates passing qualifying examination can select the examination center of their choice while filling the online application form.

Download MHT CET Admit Card: For downloading MHT CET Admit Card, Candidate should visit the website https://mhtcet2023.mahacet.org/StaticPages/HomePage. The candidate can download his/her admit card for MHT-CET 2023 from his/her Log-In ID.  Issue of Admit Card is merely an enabling document for appearing at the MHT-CET-2023 and does not imply that the candidate satisfies all the requirements of eligibility conditions of admission.
